ADN letters 3/27/10 Barbara Brease is right: It's time to overhaul the Board of Game; build relevant one," Mar. 23). The BOG denied all logic in their decisions to abolish the Denali buffer, allow hunting of rare white moose (how many of us would love to see one, alive and in the wild?) and deny Healy residents the right to walk their dogs without them getting caught in traps. Think of it: trap lines a hundred feet from your backdoor. And these are just a few of many horrible decisions. The BOG has become dangerously out of touch with the lives most Alaskans live. It's time to throw them all out a he Division of Wildlife Conservation needs revamping as well. Palin created a position just to hire family friend Corey Rossi; now he's director of this important division. Enough of the foxes guarding the henhouse. We should ask all gubernatorial candidates how they would restore balance and reason to managing our wildlife. -- Marybeth Holleman, Anchorage |
