| Bear Poaching |
BackgroundAn ongoing poaching problem has plagued Alaska’s bears for far too long. As an example, three years ago, seven bears were killed in Katmai National Park. What AWA Has DoneThe Alaska Wildlife Alliance persisted with a 2-year campaign to bring justice for these senselessly slaughtered human tolerant bears, ultimately resulting in prosecution and conviction of the two perpetrators and sentencing in Federal court. In a more recent poaching incident, the Alaska Wildlife Alliance has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. This is a part of the Alaska Wildlife Alliance’s ongoing commitment to the protection of all of Alaska’s wildlife. What You Can DoDonate!Anyone wishing to donate to a reward fund, is encouraged to contact us and work out details for this specified use of badly needed funding.
