Bears, Birds, & Beers Wildlife Walks

Alaska is a magnificent place with some incredible wildlife, and we want to get folks out to enjoy it all. Anything can happen, and every walk is different. While no wildlife sightings are guaranteed, in the past we have been fortunate enough to encounter Dall sheep, moose, belugas, songbirds, bears, and more! Most importantly, we enjoy getting to connect with the public and share what we know about Alaska’s wildlife and their habitats.

These free wildlife walks take place in the Anchorage area from May-September. Walks are from 6-7pm AK, and the fun continues to flow over at King St. Brewing Company in Anchorage from 7-8pm AK.

We encourage attendees to bring the following:

  • water

  • adequate walking/hiking shoes

  • weather-appropriate gear

  • $5 for potential parking fees

  • bear spray

  • photo ID (for beers!)

  • binoculars (helpful, but not required)

  • wildlife ID guides (helpful, but not required)

  • sense of adventure

  • flock of friends and/or family (of all ages!)

For further details, including walk locations, view our calendar of events.
