Whales can't tell us about the changing oceans, moose don't understand crosswalks, and bears are definitely not welcome at town hall meetings. Founded in 1978, the Alaska Wildlife Alliance gives a local voice to Alaska’s wildlife by advocating for healthy ecosystems across the state. Every year, we host a Hibernation Celebration fundraiser to build support for our wildlife conservation programs across the state, in conjunction with a silent auction! Join us for a presentation on our 2025 work, meet the faces behind AWA, and participate in a live silent auction.

When: Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 6 PM to 8 PM

Where: Writer’s Block in Anchorage, 3956 Spenard Rd, Anchorage, AK 99517

What to Expect: Join us for this free event, generously hosted by the Writer’s Block. Peruse our special in-person-only silent auction, learn more about AWA’s work, meet the team and volunteers behind the scenes, and order food and drink from Writer’s Block’s amazing menu! (Note: Food and drinks are available for purchase, the event is not catered)

SCHEDULE

• 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Order food and drinks, buy your next book, mingle with wildlife allies, and bid on our special in-person-only silent auction prizes (including lots of local artwork!)

• 7:00 PM - 7:30 PM: Presentation of AWA’s work this year, plus a celebration of our 2025 Volunteer of the Year, Jeff Stetz!

• 7:40 PM: In-person Silent Auction closes

All proceeds go directly to our wildlife conservation work.

Our online silent auction will also be open from November 17 to December 12th!
