Mulchatna Hearing

  • Nesbett Courthouse 825 W 4th Ave #2004 Anchorage USA (map)

On May 6, AWA will be attending what could be the final hearing in the Mulchatna Bear Control case in the Alaska Superior Court. This hearing is in response to the legal action that AWA recently filed in response to the State’s enactment of an emergency regulation to reinstate the unlawful and unconstitutional Mulchatna Bear Control Program.

Bear killing is slated to start on May 11. This hearing may be the last chance to stop the illegal killing of Mulchatna’s bears this year.

We invite you to show your support for this case and the incredible attorneys who are representing AWA pro bono, Joe Geldhof and Joel Bennett, by attending the hearing. Your in-person presence will demonstrate to the Court how important this issue is and how deeply the public cares about Alaska's wildlife. There's also a call-in option; with more information below.

When: May 6, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Where: Room 302, Nesbett Courthouse, 825 W 4th Ave #2004, Anchorage, AK 99501
