AWA is now a proud partner of the Pinniped Entanglement Group (PEG)!

Did you know that AWA is now a proud partner in the Pinniped Entanglement Group (PEG)? PEG's motto is "Lose the Loop!'' because discarded materials such as packing bands, rubber bands, ropes, netting, and garbage can all form a loop around a pinniped (especially seals and sea lions), and entangle the animal and lead to its death. We are looking forward to collaborating with PEG members and spreading the message about entanglement prevention in marine wildlife.

If you see an entangled marine mammal, immediately report it to NOAA's Alaska Marine Mammal Stranding Hotline at (877) 925-7773 or the Alaska SeaLife Center's Stranding Hotline at (888) 774-7325.
