AWA’s 2026 Annual Report
Another year of protecting Alaska’s wildlife is in the books! In 2026, Alaska Wildlife Alliance worked to advance science-based wildlife management, protect critical habitat, and promote coexistence between people and wildlife.
We advocated at three Board of Game meetings, conducted fieldwork in Hooper Bay to plan for a Motus tower installation, and continued our research on the role of beavers in climate resilience on the Kenai Peninsula. We hosted community events, received a conservation award, and documented the Mulchatna Bear Control Program, providing transparency to a highly controversial aerial gunning operation.
We also funded research on Cook Inlet fish stocks, advocated for protections under the Marine Mammal Protection Act, and spoke out against the proposed Ambler Road.
These efforts are a reflection of the dedication of our supporters and members. Want to see more of what we accomplished together in 2026? Scroll down to explore our full Annual Report (you may need to reload the page), or read it here. You can also explore previous years’ reports here.
We couldn’t do any of this without the generous help of wildlife lovers and advocates across the world! Interested in supporting Alaska’s wildlife in 2027? The best way you can support our work is by becoming a member. Thank you for your support!
